Combe Down School Flourish Project Begins!

Combe Down School is one of 40 venues across the country for a pilot project to create new child-led intergenerational worshiping communities in schools supported by the national church and the local Parish.

Claire Morrish is our local Flourish lead and is working part-time on the project alongside her Ordination studies.

The project launched last week with a new gazebo space in the school playground.

The first activity was for the children to vote on what to call a space in which to talk to and about God.

The name chosen was “The Sanctuary”. In the Sanctuary the children have been creating prayers with magnetic words or by writing on cardboard.

It has been an utter joy to be prayerfully present in the Sanctuary space and to begin to start conversations with the children about their faith and the Flourish project.
