PASTORAL CARE MATTERS BECAUSE PEOPLE MATTER

“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. We love because he first loved us” (I John 4:7, 19)

The pastoral care offered within and by the Church is grounded on the life and ministry of Jesus. Here is how we try to make sure we care for each other:

​HOME GROUPS

We encourage everyone to join a home group. Gathering in a small group within the week builds relationships as we share our lives together, build our faith, pray and care for one another. For many, this is all the pastoral care they will need. If you would like to join a home group, our administrator Becky can put you in touch with the co-ordinators

PRAYER

We have a trained prayer ministry team at every service and encourage people to cast all their cares on God, through prayer. Sometimes someone else bringing those things to God for you can be very powerful.

 

PASTORAL VISITS

If you would appreciate meeting up with someone to talk and pray about something troubling you, and you aren’t in a homegroup or feel uncomfortable discussing this need within your homegroup, then please contact Vanessa Rew. You will be connected with one of our staff team or a member of our church’s pastoral care team, depending on your circumstances. Our pastoral care team members have undertaken various levels of training. They have all had a DBS check and completed appropriate safeguarding training.

If you are new or not part of a home group, it can be tricky to know where to turn. Our Pastoral Care Coordinator is Vanessa Rew (hyperlink) who can help connect you or signpost you to other services.

at St Andrews

Home Groups are also at the heart of the support we offer each other at St Andrews.  If you would like to join a home group, our administrator Peter can put you in touch with the co-ordinators

PRAYER

We have a trained prayer ministry team and have prayer meetings usually twice a month.

He will connect you with one of our pastoral care team, depending on your circumstances. Our pastoral care team members have undertaken various levels of training.
