Finance Officer 

What

A permanent contract with Combe Down PCC (the governing body for Holy Trinity and St. Andrew’s Community Churches) for

30 hours per week with a salary of £25,400 per annum (FTE £31,750) and the equivalent of 6.6 weeks holidays.  A working pattern suitable to our chosen candidate can be agreed. A start date will be agreed with the successful candidate.  We ain to fill the position before 1 July 2026.

 

Where 

You will be based in our Church Office at the Church Rooms, 2a Avenue Place, Combe Down, Bath, BA2 5EE.  Combe Down has a village atmosphere and is a safe friendly place to be.  The office is equipped with a small staff kitchen and in sunny weather, there are the church gardens and a nearby playing field for a picnic lunch. On-street parking is mostly unrestricted and free.  There is a small supermarket opposite the office and a café/deli very close too.

 

Who Are You? 

Our Finance Officer is responsible for financial accounting records using Sage 50 Accounts Plus and Excel 2013 spreadsheets. 

 

Personal Qualities.

 

  • proactive in completing work tasks.

  • maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • excellent organisational and time management skills

  • able to prioritise work in relation to tight deadlines

  • excellent communication skills

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • A relevant bookkeeping qualification i.e. AAT Level 4 qualified (or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA)

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a finance role

  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience

  • Experience with reconciliations, reporting, and budgeting
