CHURCH caretaker

Combe Down Parochial Church Council (PCC) is seeking a reliable and practical Caretaker to join our friendly staff team.  You will help care for our church buildings and ensure they remain welcoming, safe, and well-maintained for all who use them. 

 

The role covers four sites in Combe Down and Foxhill: Holy Trinity Church, St Andrew’s Church, St Andrew’s Community Centre and The Church Rooms 

 

Main Responsibilities 

• Supporting compliance with health and safety requirements

• Overseeing contractors and maintenance schedules 

• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs 

• Preparing spaces for worship and community use 

• Ensuring building and site security 

 

About You 

You’ll be a practical, organised person who takes pride in keeping buildings and grounds in good condition. You should have basic maintenance skills, good communication, and a flexible approach to working hours. A full UK driving licence is essential. 

 

Details 

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including (very) occasional evenings/weekends 

• Holidays  - 6.6 weeks (33 days) (inc. public holidays) 

• Salary: £23,810 plus contributary pension  

• Contract: Full Time Permanent 

• Start Date: ASAP
