Parish Administrator
25 hours per week | Church Office-based
We are seeking a warm, organised and proactive Parish Administrator to play a vital role in the life and mission of our church.
This is a key post at the heart of the parish, providing high-quality administrative and communication support to enable clergy, volunteers and ministries to flourish. The role involves a varied mix of office administration, worship support, benefice coordination, and engagement with parishioners at all stages of life. The successful candidate will be a practising Christian, able to work in sympathy with the aims, values and ethos of the Church of England.
About the Role
Working closely with the Operations Manager, clergy and volunteers, the Parish Administrator will:

Act as the first point of contact for enquiries to the parish

Manage weekly communications including notice sheets, email newsletters and website updates

Prepare Orders of Service and support worship and special services

Coordinate administration for baptisms, weddings and funerals

Be responsible for creating some rotas and preparation for the APCM

Be responsible for statistical returns to the Diocese
-
Manage room bookings.

Support volunteers and parish activities

Contribute to one-off projects, events and governance tasks
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values good organisation, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
About You
You will be:

Be a practising Christian, committed to supporting the mission and ministry of the Church

Highly organised, efficient and detail-focused

Friendly and professional, with good interpersonal skills

Confident using IT systems, email, websites and digital tools
-
Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with discretion and care
Previous administrative experience is desirable, and experience in a church setting would be an advantage.

Salary & Hours
Salary: £18,666 (FTE £28,000 per annum)
Hours: 25 hours per week
Annual Leave: five weeks
Pension: Auto-enrolment compliant
Contract: Permanent
