Men's Romania House Build Project

Location: Reghin, Romania

Dates: October. Sun 19 - Mon 27.

Purpose.  We are supporting Attila and Adele Toth in their work with the local Roma and Romanian community. Their activities include running six churches, a children’s home, an educational programme, a horticulture centre and a large pig farm.

Description of work involved: The central task is to build a one room (House) for Paul, the herdsman’s son as the family are bursting out on their one-room house. Additionally, there will be plenty of maintenance work on the pig sties and poly tunnels.

Time will also be available to visit families in the Gypsy/Roma community, spending time with the young people in the family home, contributing to the service in the Gypsy/Roma community (Optional). The final evening involves a visit to Sighisoara Medieval Town (UNESCO world heritage site) for our last meal; hotel stay and breakfast.

Cost. £350.00 Plus flight (presently £200.00. Book your own) 

Includes: Return transport from Airports in Romania. Use of three Land Rover Defenders for the project, plus all accommodation and food.

Does not include: Flights, Personal Holiday Insurance. Return transport and parking at Luton Airport.

NB. The cost of flights does change.

Who can come?

This is not a designated church trip. It is absolutely appropriate for anyone. Also great for dads and sons, providing your son is of a safe age to be on a building site! (14 plus?). There is no expectation of building expertise. You will have a small group leader who knows the tasks and the tools.  Although the faith approach of Attila and the team is hugely inspiring the programme will be designed to appeal to those of a non Christian perspective and individuals can choose to opt in or out, of certain activities.

Responsibilities.

When the group is established we will need to raise money to buy the materials. In general this is about £3,000.00 which we will raise together.
