About the Event
Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge 2025 (100 or 60 Miles)
When: Sept 26-28 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Route: Ilfracombe to Plymouth or Ilfracombe to Okehampton
Meet: Plum Cottage. 109 Upper Westwood, BA152DP
Time: From 4.00pm meet to load up. (Flexible depending on the group)
Expected return time 12.00 Midday Sunday
Cost: £120.00. Includes Transport of bikes and you, Friday night Hostel, Breakfast and Supplies on route.
Does NOT include Friday evening takeaway, Saturday evening Okehampton Room (Book your own) and Saturday evening meal together.
The Programme
Friday 26 at 5.30pm We will load up the bikes, bags, supplies and cyclists (Minibus and Panel vans)
Cars will be left in Plum Cottage Grounds. We travel together to Ilfracombe Hostel. (3 hours)

At Ilfracombe we will un-pack into rooms and get a takeaway of your choice to eat together at the Hostel.
Bikes will be secure in the Panel van.
There will be a final briefing before we retire to rooms.
Saturday 27 at 6.00 am. Breakfast is served. We aim to leave at 7.00am. We cycle consistently through the day with six stops including a longer break for lunch at Okehampton Station. (Food and drink provided at evening stop). 100 Mile group go at quicker rate. 60 Mile Group at a slower rate. E Bikers and those selecting to ride at separate stages go with 58 Mile group.
4.30pm Okehampton Group finish at Okehampton and check into rooms. 4.30(ish) pm.
5.30pm 100 Mile Complete their cycle at Plymouth Hoe, load up and return to Hotels at Okehampton.
8.30pm All meet at chosen restaurant for evening meal.
Sunday 28th 9.30 Depart for Home. (2Hrs 15 Min) Arrive 12.00(ish)
ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO BRING:
1. Fully functioning bicycle. (Brakes working, Tyres fully inflated, Gears checked). Be prepared. Don`t check tyres the night before! (Bring a Spare inner tube)
2. Bicycle for 100 Touring or Road Bike/ Racing.
3. Cycle shorts
4. Training shoes/Cycle shoes
5. Waterproof Jacket. (Bright colour advisable)
6. Water bottle on bike
7. Cycle Leggings. Tracksuit, running leggings. Not Jeans
8. Sunglasses for eye protection
9. Clear glass for dull light. (Protects eyes from insects)
10. Cycle helmet
11. Lights (Advisable. For a dull day on the road sections)
12. Mob phone/money.
13. Warm fleece top
14. Spare cycle clothes to be kept in van for changing on a wet day.
15. Small rucksack / pannier / Bike bag (There will be minibus support with suitcases)
16. Personal medication as required / Suncream
17. Gloves (Gel cycle gloves recommended)
18. Plastic bags (To be worn over socks to keep feet dry if cold and wet) See forecast.
19. Casual clothing after cycle is completed. (What you arrived in!)

Medical Issues. You must have completed the required medical form and be in a fit state to participate.
Safety. 2 Groups with 2 leaders. Each group separately travel together. The group leader and back marker will have mobile phones, first aid kit and repair kits. A vehicle will be available to pick up anyone who experiences difficulties. The cycle is almost all on smooth paths or on old tarmac railway line. When cycling on roads we will cycle as escorted groups.
