Finance Officer (Maternity Cover)

The Finance Officer (Maternity Cover) will perform a number of key responsibilities to support the team at HTCD. These include preparing annual budgets and accounts, issuing invoices, maintaining staff finance records, as well as assisting the operations manager in contract management. You will need to be proactive, an excellent organiser and communicate and have attention to detail.

Job responsibilities

  • Preparation of the annual budget

  • Preparation of annual accounts for the PCC & for Holy Trinity Trust (HTT)

  • Maintaining Gift Aid records and claiming gift aid repayments

  • Reconciling bank accounts

  • Issuing and recording invoices and payments from lettings and suppliers

  • Recording inventory

  • Maintaining accurate staff records for payroll and pension providers

  • Making pension payments

  • Managing petty cash transactions and payment of expense claims to staff

  • Assisting the Operations Manager with contract management and general administration duties


Job requirements

  • AAT qualifications or equivalent or proven accounts experience

  • Experience in using Sage 50 Plus or similar accounting packages

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

  • Proactive in completing work tasks and prioritising tasks for deadlines

  • Ability to work independently

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
